Test Results can help secure special classroom arrangements, testing accommodations, or even specific school placements (e.g., 504, IEP, special education schools, extended time on standardized tests).
Neuropsychological testing can uncover learning disabilities like dyslexia or developmental delays, such as Autism, which might negatively impact a child’s academic performance.
The evaluation identifies the areas where the child excels. They might also need improvement in cognitive/intelligence, academic/achievement, attention/concentration/executive functioning, language/communication, learning/memory, and visual-spatial skills.
The evaluation helps in diagnosing mood, anxiety, social, and behavioral issues, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, ADHD and Depression.
It can identify personality traits or factors that might be negatively affecting learning and overall functioning.
The evaluation assesses the effectiveness of intervention and treatments, documenting any changes since the last evaluation.

The evaluation method is comprehensive and consists of several steps. It can be broken down into three main phases:
Interview
The interview session is typically scheduled for 1–2 hours. During this session, Dr. Bensusan and her clients review important background information, including medical, educational, social, and family history. It may also be necessary to conduct interviews with educators or other professionals who are currently working with the client.
Test Administration (Standardized and Neurobehavioral Assessments)
Dr. Bensusan customizes the testing phase to address each client’s unique needs and concerns. This phase generally spans 5–8 hours and is usually conducted across 2–3 sessions. During these sessions, Dr. Bensusan works one-on-one with the client.
She utilizes standardized tests and procedures to assess cognitive abilities and academic skills (e.g., attention, memory, reading, and executive functioning). In addition to structured measures, she incorporates less formal assessment methods such as neurobehavioral examinations, clinical observation, and play-based social skill interviews.
Although standardized tests follow a structured process, individual functioning cannot be reduced to a simple set of scores. For this reason, Dr. Bensusan personally conducts all aspects of the testing process rather than delegating to a psychometrician. This allows her to gather nuanced information about an individual’s behavior and personality that may impact test performance and outcomes.
Feedback
The final phase of the evaluation is the feedback session. During this time, Dr. Bensusan reviews the results in detail with the client and/or their family. Depending on the complexity of the findings and the client’s interest in further discussion or education, the feedback phase may take place over one or multiple sessions. A comprehensive written report is also provided, designed to support the client and their broader treatment or educational team.
She works with individuals of all ages, from children to older adults.
